Breaks

My breaks are one hour and a half long. I use that time to eat something because at the time that I have my first break which is at 12:45 PM I am already hungry.  On my second break I do school that might have been assigned so I don’t have to do them later. I find the work easier when I do it in school than when I do it at home. I find it easier to concentrate when i’m at school because I don’t get easily distracted. There’s not much for me to do besides that. I don’t know what places are in Turlock and where they are located so I can’t really do much. I can’t really go home because it so far and I don’t have enough time to go home and come back. Also I would just be wasting gas. On my breaks I just stay in school and sit down to do homework for the entire time until my class starts. On days that I just have one class I go one hour early to school. While I wait for my class to start I do homework or work from class that I need to catch up on. If I don’t have any homework that’s due at that time I either read a book or study for a class. I mostly just use my breaks and time I have before class to just do any school work because I don’t like to do my work at home. I usually get home from school really tired. That’s why I use the time I have at school to do work. If I don’t get everything done during my breaks that’s when I do the work at home.

Commuting

Commuting can sometimes be weird and it can be tiring but it is mostly fun.  Everyday I drive 42 minutes to go to school. I have to wake up early so I am not late to my first class. Since everyday my schedule is different I wake up at different times each day. I have to remember which days class starts early and which days it starts later. When it starts early I have to wake up 3 hours before class starts to be able to have enough time to get ready and to make sure I don’t leave late. The other days my class starts at 12:00 PM so that’s when I wake up later. When I get out of school I have to drive back and I get home 43 minutes after class is over. Monday and Wednesday I get out at 6:50 PM so I end up getting home like at 7:33 PM.  By the time I get home I am so tired.  In between my breaks I can't just go home because my breaks are like one hour and a half which means that I wouldn’t have enough time to go, eat  and come back. I just stay in school during those times. It’s really far and can sometimes be tiring driving 43 minutes every single day. I think living on campus would’ve been much easier but driving to a different place is exciting. It’s interesting going to other places and not just staying in the same place every time. Even though it is exhausting sometimes, it is fun most times because you are always going somewhere.

Classes

All of my classes are interesting. They are a mixture of different subjects. One of the classes I am taking is communication class. Taking that class is a good way to make new friends. That class involves talking to people and learning new ways to communicate with different people. I like that class because so far I’ve learned new things that I didn’t know before. We do activities that have to do with what we are learning. Another class that I am also taking and is really fun is dance class. I’ve never taken dance class before but it’s easy to learn. The teacher teaches step by step which makes it easier to learn the dance. Every Monday and Wednesday we do the dance to get more practice. It’s a really good and a fun class to take. I am also taking an art class. We do different projects in that class. So far we’ve only done one project and currently working on the second one. The first project was easy and the current one is also going good. I really like taking that class. I am also taking an english class which is this class. I enjoy doing the blog and reading other blogs. Writing blogs are a really good way to learn new things and to inform others. The last class I am taking is art history. I don’t know much about art history but taking that class is helping me a lot. Those are all the classes I am taking this semester. I really like taking those classes because they’re fun and I learn many new things. 

Overall Experience

My first week of college was confusing. First of all I had to park in lot 8 and it was really far from where my class was at. I only had like 15 minutes to get to my class and it was all the way on the other side of the school. I didn’t know if I needed books and by when I needed them. When I ordered my books at first I didn’t know where to pick them up. I eventually did figure that out. It was at the CSU Stanislaus bookstore at the window that says online purchase pickup. I ended up getting my books on time. The first day of school I didn’t know where my classes were located so I looked up the map of the school and that helped me a lot but I still needed time to find them. Because of that, the next day it was faster to go to my classes. I knew where they were at. My classes were easy the first day because we just went over the rules and expectations of the class. All my classes were interesting. Since I have long breaks in between classes, that first week I didn’t know what to do during that time. Now between classes, I eat or do homework if I have any, but besides that I still haven’t figured out what to do to waste time. I bought food the first day and after that I started bringing my own food because it was going to get expensive buying food every single day. That was my overall experience of how the first week of college went for me.
