Another Exam

On my last post I talked about my first exams I have taken this semester. I have another test coming up soon in Psychology. Last test I study a little bit everyday and just went over my notes. I didn’t read the whole chapters in the book but just the first three pages. I didn’t get a good grade on the last exam but I am trying to do better this upcoming test. I’ve been reading the book with the pages that has what my notes have. When I read a chapter in the textbook I don’t go to the next chapter until I fully understand that section. I also highlight what I know I need to go over and take a look at it one more time. I write down on my notes things that I read on the textbook and look important. Taking my first test in that class I didn’t know what was going to be on it. But now with this test I kind of have an idea of what to study and what I might see on the test. Since the professor doesn’t give us homework or any classwork, the grade that we get on the test is what we get in the class. I am trying to get good grades, so I am actually putting most of my time to study for the exam in Psychology. Even though I have no problem on memorizing things I need to also know and understand the topic not just memorize what is on the book or my notes. 

First two exams of the semester

Last Friday, I had two exams. Those are the first two exams that have had so far in the semester. It wasn’t easy trying to study for two exams that I had to do on the same day. At first I thought it was going to be easy if I just kept studying everyday from the first day of class until the day of the exam. But as the date got closer it felt more difficult to be able to study for two different subjects. One of the exams that I took on Friday was Math, it isn’t a hard class but I knew I had to study the things that I didn’t know because those were most likely going to be on the test. The other class was Psychology, that class is more difficult for me. I knew that in order to do good on the test I had to study more than what I would usually study. Trying to make time to study for two classes especially when they were on the same day was a challenge. Before the exam date, I worked on Math homework that were all going to be due on the day of the exam. It took me a while to finish it. When I was done with the homework, it was already so late that I didn’t have enough time to study for the psychology exam a day before I had to take it. I thought that since I had already been studying the past couple of days I will have no trouble with the exam but it turned out to be more difficult than I expected it to be. 

Second Semester

My second semester is going the same as the first semester, it hasn’t gotten much better. Even though I got more familiar with the campus my second semester I still didn’t know where some of my classes where. I knew where the buildings where at but not the location of the class number. To find my classes I had to go to the building and look at the map that every building has to find where my class where at. I still have one hour breaks between my classes, but even though they’re only like one hour, an hour for me feels like a really long time when I am bored. I don’t do much between my breaks except either eat, finish any assignments I have or be on my phone. Another thing is that this semester my classes look a lot harder than my classes the first semester and soon I am going to have a test in two of my classes. I feel like this semester I have to study even more than what I studied last semester if I want to pass my classes. Besides that I really like all the classes that I chose this semester. One of the things that I learned from last semester that now I can use it as an advantage for this semester is how to use blackboard. I now find it easier to submit work on blackboard or check assignments. Even though my second semester hasn’t gotten much better than my first semester, it definitely has gotten easier.
